Levi’s Fire: A Story of Resilience and Hope

Director's Statement

I did not come to this story searching for tragedy. I was drawn to what emerged in its aftermath.

After a devastating accident left young Levi fighting for his life, his family entered a world defined by uncertainty and fragile hope. What followed was not only a fight for survival, but a profound display of resilience, compassion, and the strength that arises when a community refuses to let a family stand alone.

At the heart of this film is not the accident, but what came after: a mother transforming gratitude into action and a community gathering around purpose. The creation of the SickKids Fired Up Gala is more than an event — it is love made visible and a reminder that healing extends far beyond hospital walls.

As a filmmaker, I approach this story with care and responsibility. My intention is to illuminate what rises from it — dignity, resilience, and the human instinct to give back even in the face of profound hardship.

Through Levi’s journey, this film explores how hope can become something shared, something active, and something that carries others forward.
